HEATHER ANN BECKLER

Heather Beckler, 29, of Sparta, died Thursday, June 8, 2000 in her home. She was born October 4, 1970 to Jeffrey and Dawn (Wildes) Burrows at Janesville, Wisconsin. She grew up in the Sparta area and graduated from Sparta High School in 1988. She married Scott Beckler on October 20, 1995.

She graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-LaCross in 1999 with a degree in art education. She had an internship at Black River Falls (Wis) HighSchool. She taught second grade Sunday School and was active in the Sparta United Methodist Church. Heather enjoyed going to auto races, golfing, camping and going to movies with her daughters.

She is survived by her husband, Scott of Sparta, two daughters Onalea and Adrianna both at home, her mother and stepfather Dawn and Michael Bastian of Tomah, her father Jeff (Toni)Burrows of Sparta, one brother Dan Burrows of Sparta, her grandfather William Wildes of Glendale, Arizona, grandparents George and Lois Newman of Wilton, and grandmother Helen (Al) Johnson of LaFarge, Wisconsin and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Ronald Burrows and one uncle.

Funeral services were Monday, June 12, 2000 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Sparta with the Reverend David Carlson officiating.

Elvertha V. Pasch, 83, of Kendall died Monday evening, June 5, 2000 at Tomah Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 24, 1917 to Ernest and Amelia (Arndt) Krause at Wilton. She was united in marriage to Oscar Pasch in June of 1940. Elvertha worked as a seamstress for the Mauston Garment Factory. She was a faithful and devoted member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Kendall and a member of the Ladies Aid.

She is survived by a son Allan Pasch of Kenosha, and his companion Judy Bonn of Kenosha, a foster daughter Rose (Glen) Trimble of Champaign, Ill, 2 grandsons David and Mike (Dawn) Pasch both of Kenosha, 3 brothers Elvin (Lola) Krause and Ed Krause both of Wilton, Norbert (Jo) Krause of Tomah, 1 sister Elsie Blado of Janesville, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Oscar, her parents, a brother Ferdie and a sister Hertha.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 9, 2000, 11:00 A.M. from St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Kendall. Pastor Fred Fedke will officiate. Burial will be Oak Grove Cemetery, Tomah.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Smith –Nelson Funeral Home, Kendall, on Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until time of the service.

Erma Ann Nesseth, 79, of Tomah, died Friday, June 2, 2000 at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center, LaCrosse.

She was born June 17, 1920 to Joseph and Anna (Donskey) Steinhoff in the Town of Ridgeville, Monroe County, WI. She was united in marriage to Ordain Nesseth April 21, 1946 at Norwalk. He preceded her in death in 1967. Erma was a faithful and devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a member of St. Loretta’s Guild. She worked as a presser at Band Box Cleaners in Tomah prior to her retirement.

She is survived by a son David (Teresa) of Rockford, ILL. 2 grandchildren Jeffrey of De Kalb, ILL. and Jennifer ( Jayson) Arnett of Rockford, 2 brothers Bernard Steinhoff of Sparta and Philip Steinhoff of LaCrosse, a brother-in-law Matt Dinger of Sparta, Erma is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ordain, her parents and a sister Marie Dinger. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at 11:00 A.M. from St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Tomah. Father Richard C. Dickman will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday from 4 until 8 P.M. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 East Monowau Street, Tomah and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until time of the service. Parish rosary will be recited at 4 P.M. Monday.

Mary A. Meseberg, 92, of Wilton, died Wednesday, May 31, 2000, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Elroy.

She was born April 10, 1908, to Bernard and Apollonia (Brueggen) Ewelt in the Town of Jefferson, Monroe County, WI. She was united in marriage to William Meseberg, July 16, 1923. They farmed in the Wilton area for 46 years. He preceded her in death April 23, 1963. She later moved to Hillcrest Manor in Wilton. Mary was a dedicated neighbor and helped her friends with daily tasks so they were able to live in their own homes. Mary is survived by a son Paul (Connie) of Elroy, a son-in-law Lyle Haldeman of Louisville, KY, 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters Gertrude Rapp of Sparta and Loretta Grill of Norwalk, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William, a daughter Lorraine Haldeman, and a sister Annie Schaub, three brothers Tony, Bernard and Bill.. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 5, 2000 at 11:00 A.M. from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Wilton. The Very Rev. James P. McNamee will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Smith-Nelson Funeral Home, Wilton on Sunday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until time of the service. A prayer vigil will be held Sunday evening at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home.

Theresa "Terri" Mae Benish, 37, of Rockland and formerly of Kendall and Winona MN, died Monday, May 29, 2000 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Sparta.

She was born August 11, 1962 to Robert and Darlene (Olson) Benish at Richland Center, Wis. After graduation from Elroy High School she attended the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse. She graduated with a Bachelor Degree and later a Masters Degree in Psychology. She worked as the school psychologist at Cochran-Fountain City School District while living in Winona, Minn. Terri later moved to the Sparta area and worked for the Sparta School District as the Director of Pupil Services. She was a member of the National Association of School Psychologists, Wisconsin School Psychologist Association, Association of Wisconsin School Administrators, Wisconsin Council of Administrators of Special Services, LTD.

She is survived by her parents, Robert and Darlene Benish of Kendall, her fiancé Troy Walker of Rockland, 4 sisters Kathy Benish and Margie (Tim) Wangen both of Kendall, Debbie (Larry) Burkhalter of Union Center, Carol Benish of Winona, Minn, 3 brothers Bernie (Shawna) of Somerset, Dennis (Joan) and Chuck (Lynne) both of New Richmond, 5 nephews Tommy, Zachary, Brad, Brandon and Chuckie, 2 nieces, Sarah and Heather. She is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents and an aunt.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 2, 2000, 11:00 A.M. from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Kendall. The Very Rev. James P. McNamee will officiate. Graveside service and burial will be at St. John’s Catholic Church Cemetery, at Dilly at 2:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to call at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Kendall on Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until time of the service.
