SOUTH SIDE LUMBER BLDG WAS BUILD IN 1959 "It was back in 1955 and I had just retunred from military duty and took a job with Sparta Lumber. Using my G.I. Bill I took a course at Wasau North Central Tech in the designing and building of residential homes. Our first Subdivion was the area bordered on the west by Butts Avenue and on the East Lincoln Avenue starting at Council street and going down to the Sornson Feed Mill property.

In 1978 we build an upper story on the building and also incorportated the warehouse into the building and build this office we are sitting in.

The solar heat collectors were installed at that time also and are still in use. "We use a liquid system with about 1,400 gallon storage capacity" Stan said.
