    A READER WRITES

    Not because I disagree with you totally about your concept of how bad you make out America, but in that it was insensitive. To those families who lost love ones and friends, it slaps them in the face saying that they deserve to be hated and killed because of America. Some times it seems you are more angry at the American government than the terrorists who did this.

    In reply to the writer, I will say that I did not intend to be insensative to the sorrow and hurt of those who lost loved ones in the terrible events in New York and Washington this past week. We all are hurting because of the injury and loss of life in this horrible event and my sympathy certainly goes out to all those people.

    What I was trying to say was that our government foreign policy the past decade if not longer has been such that we have create much hate in the world toward us. I think that the letter from the Canadian (see below) somewhat verifies this in that the writer did not use the word hate but certainly mentioned again and again all that America had done for others and no one lifted a finger to help us. Call it apathy if you wishbut it certainly is not a great love for America and why is there not a great love for America by a large number other coutries? I listed a number of those in my earlier editorial: See Above:

    I am not sure why this Candadian letter is being promoted so much on the Internet at this time of Crisis in our country.

    At present our country is being conditioned to get ready for a vengeful retaliation to those who were responsible for the terrible death and destruction in New York and Washington. AN EYE FOR AND EYE AND A TOOTH FOR TOOTH AND MAYBE EVEN MORE.

    By the time the death count is over in New York and Washington it will be a way up in the thousands. President Bush said that we have been presented with a new form of WAR.

    Then let us also try to work out a new form of Peace. The Alternative to War:
    NO MORE VICTIMS

    When Timothy McVeigh, blew up the Federal Bldg in Okalahom how did we handle it? We send out law enforcement to arrest those responsible and bring them to trial. We do not call out the Federal troops to use bombs, cruise misssels and other high tech military force to settle the crime committed. We took it to court where a jury decided the type ofpunishment and penalty those responsible should get.

    Why cannot we do that on an International scale? Let our FBI, CIA, assisted by our Military go out and arrest those responsible and bring them to our courts or to the world court where the court will decide the punishment those responsible will get.
